Student-led Innovations For Advancing Native Americans Into Osteopathic Medicine

Research output: Contribution to conferencePosterpeer-review

Abstract

The Native American Students of Osteopathic Medicine organization at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine developed and hosted a novel Native American Pre-Admissions (NAPA) Workshop focused on recruiting Native American students into osteopathic medicine. Through the leadership of osteopathic medical students, faculty, and staff, we were able to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, behaviors, and attitudes necessary to successfully navigate the admissions process to become a competitive applicant. By developing this pathway workshop, we hope to increase the number of Native American students matriculating into medical school.
