Abstract
Liver abscesses require prompt diagnosis and treatment for a positive outcome. Advances in diagnostic techniques and treatment have changed the epidemiology and presentation of pyogenic liver abscesses. Treatment regimens consist of drainage and broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy to cover for bacteria arising from the biliary tree and colon. The following case report describes a patient with an anaerobic pyogenic liver abscess.
