Dr. Kaul's lab investigates how hormonal factors affect inflammation during Hepatitis C virus pathogenesis and liver cancer development. Her team also investigates the role of estrogen in regulation of inflammation during recurrent urinary tract infections by E. coli and also developing novel nanoparticle based therapy for killing intracellular bacteria or killing cancer cells.
