Research interests include: cultural competence, emotional intelligence/self-efficacy, the professional preparation of athletic training students, transition to clinical practice, and first responder health care.

Project Description: We are currently working on an athletic training specific measurement tool to identify the level of cultural competence in athletic trainers and their ability to work with diverse patient populations.

Project Title: Functional assessment of firefighters

Project Description: We are looking to perform a needs analysis of tasks, skills, and fitness needs of career and volunteer firefighters and then correlate that with physical fitness assessments.
