Dr. Slick is Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine. He serves as the Designated Institutional Official for the ACGME accredited graduate medical education residency and fellowship programs at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. He also is the Chief Academic Officer for the Osteopathic Medical Education Consortium of Oklahoma (OMECO) residency and fellowship programs in Tulsa and across the state of Oklahoma. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Oklahoma State University Medical Center and a Nephrology and Hypertension fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals. He served as the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine Program Director at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (Midwestern University) for over 20 years prior to coming to OSU-CHS. He also has served as Director of Medical Education at Midwestern University and OSU Medical Center. He has held past positions as Chair of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Chair of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and President of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. Dr. Slick currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the ACGME. His chief research interests have been in internal medicine certification, kidney disease and the mechanisms of sodium retention in congestive heart failure.
